You need to meet with me sometime before Thanksgiving (and preferably this week or next) about your project. Come prepared with a topic, an audience, and a project. You need to convince me this is a solid final project for the course. These meetings are mandatory. If you do not meet with me ahead of time I will not accept your final project.
After our meeting you will post your project and your plans to the class blog as a kind of contract between us that you understand the requirements of the assignment. The post will also let you and your classmates draw inspiration from one another.

I will be creating a magazine for perspective Eckerd College students. It will be an environmental issue. Discussing the campus, actives, groups, and students with or through an environmental basis.
I hope to paint a new mural over the old one that now has graffti on it by the cafeteria. The subject will most likely display manatees, in hopes of raising public awareness and connection with the marine mammals' plight. I hope to make painting the mural a campus-wide event, and hopefully get funding for it through the school.
Because in the future I would love to go back to Ecuador, which i visited last winter term, and work in the Amazon as an english/environmental teacher, I have decided to do my project on recycling for kids. I will make a coloring/activity book of sorts that will talk about reducing, reusing and recycling. I plan on covering these topics as well as including topics about reducing your carbon footprint.
I will be trying to create a series of smoker awareness shirts, geared towards Eckerd Collage residences. It will talk about the effects, pollution from different perspectives and more if I can.

I am going to create a section of a magazine focusing on an endangered animal specie. It will be geared toward families, and contain interviews, facts, statistics, places to make contact with these animals, games and other information pretaining to the animal.
I am goin to create a childrens book much like an encyclopedia with a picture to accompany a picture which it demonstrates to help letting younger kids understand the problems with pesticides and global agriculutural practices. I am disecting my research paper and using my findings to create the book( for its main points 10-12)
My my 3rd project i plan on writing a cookbook. I will focus on non fish dishes rich in omega 3s and foods that detoxify your system. My audience will be anyone who is health conscious.
For my project I plan on creating a coloring book which helps younger children understand the importance of protecting the coral reefs. This coloring book will be targeted to kids from kindergarten to 3rd grade. The cover of the coloring book will be colored and the book will contain about 8 black and white images that can be colored.
I will creating a menu/recipe book.
It will include a list of foods to others then a page with recipes and a page with where certain ingredients in the menu and recipe can be found locally grown or produced in Miami/St. Petersburg area.
my audience would be college students and families who often want to find local choices/variety in their menus.
My final project will stem from my research paper on sea turtles. I am going to make a learning-type board game for children. This game will encompass an array of ways that humans are negatively affecting sea turtles. I plan to design it to be fun while teaching children at an early age how we are hurting sea turtles' environment.
For project 3, i am going to make a series of conservation- geared advertisements that would be featured in magazines.
The advertisements will focus on the Great Lakes conservation, more specifically, Lake Michigan.
